Greetings! If you haven't noticed, I've gotten into the rhythm of monthly updates instead of weekly ones. Weekly updates were fine, but I prefer the pacing of a single, more hearty update per month. So, for this month's update, I've got some exciting news for playtesters and a good bit of art to show off!
General Timeline Update
Back in Update #11, I gave you a look at the timeline for Spirit Duels. Just in case you forgot, here is that timeline:
Late May: Kickstarter ends.
June: Balancing and art continue.
October: Game finalized and art complete.
November: Begin manufacturing!
January2023: Chinese New Year Holiday.
March2023: Manufacturing Complete!
May2023: Games arrive at warehouses.
June2023: All games shipped!
I am happy to say that, so far, we are still on track with this timeline. We will spend the rest of September and October finishing art and balancing the game. By November, everything should be finalized and we will send the game to print!
Full Game Available Soon on TTS!
The next update to the Tabletop Simulator build of the game will add in the final few Spirits. Meaning, that after this patch, all 9 Classes and all 27 Spirit Lines will be available to test on TTS. The patch will be live sometime next week!
Monthly Art Update
I am happy to announce that every Spirit Line in the game has now been fully rendered. Meaning, that all 27 Spirit Lines have been fully illustrated! If you aren't following Spirit Duels on Instagram, be sure to do so, as that is where we are officially revealing new Spirits. Follow us on Instagram!

Greetings! I hope this update finds you well! I have some exciting news today for non-backers, playtesters, and a lot of art to show off for everyone. Let's get into it!
Pre-Orders are now available!
If you aren't a backer, or you know someone who missed the campaign, now is the chance to grab a copy of Spirit Duels! Our BackerKit pre-order store is now live! Pre-ordering a copy this way ensures you get the game alongside backers - before anyone else! Pre-Orders are only available for a limited time, so act now!
I am still going back and forth with the team at BackerKit fine-tuning the pledge manager and surveys. A smoke test should be sent out next week to make sure everything is smooth and functioning properly. After that, the remaining surveys will be sent out to everyone.
A massive update to the Open Beta is coming very soon! This update will introduce the Arcane and Ice Class reworks, as well as tons of new Spirit Lines!
Game development has been going great. The Open Beta is currently live, where anyone can playtest the game using Tabletop Simulator. If you are interested in that, head over to our Discord server and join the fun! We are always in need of more playtesters.
Robert has got a large number of Spirit Lines rendered and ready for official reveals. So I am excited to say that starting next week, we will be back to officially revealing Spirits over on Instagram on a consistent basis. Douglas has been cranking out illustrations left and right. I've got a few to show off today!

A Quick "Behind-the-Scenes" Update

Hello! It's been a few weeks since my last update! Today, I'm just dropping in to give you some information on what's been going on during these past few weeks. Heads up, this will be more of a personal update, with some logistics/development info sprinkled in.
Unfortunately, I've had to take a small hiatus from Spirit Duels and work in general. On July 3rd, our newborn baby was admitted to the hospital with COVID and RSV. She was having problems breathing and was coughing uncontrollably. She stayed at the hospital for a few days on oxygen, and eventually, we were sent home. She's doing great now. Both viruses have run their course. Shortly after we returned home, however, our two-year-old daughter ended up catching RSV, and now our four-year-old son has it. What a mess! Thankfully, RSV isn't as serious for toddlers, but they are still having a rough time.
I started back to work on Spirit Duels this week. Development is going smooth and the Pledge Manager is nearly ready for late pledges and backer surveys to go out. Douglas, the illustrator responsible for the Move, Item, and Trait illustrations has been sick for the past week as well. He's doing good now and is back illustrating the world of Spirit Duels.

Open Beta Begins June 24... Tomorrow!

Open Beta Starts Tomorrow!
As promised, the Open Beta for Spirit Duels begins tomorrow! This Open Beta will be run entirely through Tabletop Simulator (TTS) and our Discord Server. Anyone who is interested in playing and testing the game during this time will need to purchase TTS through Steam and then hop into our Discord Server. There, you will be able to find other players to schedule matches with. After each match, you'll be asked to fill out a Play Test Report Form - this is your opportunity to provide direct feedback to us as we fine-tune Spirit Duels. I am personally very excited to begin this phase of development and can't wait to test the game with you!
Weekly Art Update
As always, I have a few beautiful illustrations to show off from Douglas!
Robert has also been hard at work finishing off the concept art for the last few remaining Spirit Lines. In fact, we only have a single Spirit Line remaining for concept art. After concept art comes rendering, where Robert goes in and adds all the shades, highlights, and extra details. Now, that I've shown off the concept art for the three Design-a-Spirit lines in previous updates, I'll be taking a step away from revealing more Spirits until they are rendered. At which point I'll reveal them in a more official way on social media!
